Pandemonium as former MK party leader, Jabulani Khumalo leaves court

The former leader of MK, Jabulani Khumalo, had to be whisked away by a bumbling security team after MK members chased him.

Jabulani Khumalo, the man who registered the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party, and who was its leader until April 2024, had to be ushered away from the gates of the Gauteng High Court, after MK party members dashed at him.

Khumalo, who is currently seeking to be reinstated as MK party’s leader, was leaving the Electoral Court, which is currently sitting at the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg, when he was accosted by MK party members, who among other things hurled vulgarities and threw objects in his general direction and later at his vehicle, a Toyota Landcruiser, which seemingly had neither temporary or permanent registration plates.

Some MK members were heard saying “voetsek wena” (piss off you) as Khumalo rushed to his awaiting vehicle, one member shouted “ngeke usiphathe” (you will never lead us). Amid the chaos, one MK party member was nearly knocked over by Khumalo’s accompanying security team vehicle, which also bumped and scratched a nearby vehicle in its hurried escape.
