Spotting the red flags on the Yubofriends platform

There is a number of things about the Yubofriends platform that stand out as red flags in the online world.

Signing up to the Yubofriends platform may seem like a great way to make money, but the website is missing a few key details.

Spotting the red flags on the Yubofriends platform

Distinguishing between a legitimate online money-making opportunity and a scam can be tricky.

This is why cyber security experts have warned users to be on the lookout for red flags, such as a lack of transparency, unrealistic earning claims, a bad reputation, poorly-designed websites, spelling errors, and more.

Yubofriends is one such website, which promises that users can earn real money by completing a few simple tasks online.

However, before you hastily sign up for the platform or completing any of the listed tasks – there are a few red flags that you should take note of.

Red flag 1: Domain creation and registration

Generally, newer registered domains are considered less safe, because the companies have not yet had the time to build up a favourable reputation.

The Yubofriends domain (yubofriends.com) is still very new and was only registered under the registrar NameCheap, Inc on 26 December 2023.

And, as another  warning sign, this website bears an uncanny resemblance to the Skoutfriends (skoutfriends.com) website, which was also created in December 2023.

Red flag 2: Unrealistic claims

A good rule of thumb when it comes to trusting websites is that if a claim seems too good to be true – it probably is.

Fraudulent websites often make outlandish, unsubstantiated and unrealistic claims in order to lure vulnerable users to sign up.

And while there is no real way to confirm whether or not Yubofriends’ claims that they have paid over $97,000,00 to their more than 300,000 members are legitimate – the company already has quite a few poor reviews on Trustpilot.

In fact, Yubofriends has only earned 3 out of 5 stars on this review site, with all three of the reviewers complaining that they have not received their withdrawn funds yet.

Red flag 3: Lack of transparency

Another common red flag in the world of online scams and various types of fraudulent websites is an obvious lack of important information and transparency.

Unfortunately, this is another category in which the Yubofriends platform falls short.

The Yubofriends website (much like its twin-website, Skoutfriends) does not list any pertinent information like contact details, a physical address, or even the identities of the team in charge of the business.

And since the website is so new, it also lacks financial statements, business registration documents and more.

In the end, the Yubofriends site will require a lot of your personal information to sign up but offers almost no information in return.
