DPSA reassures public servants of commitment to Wage Negotiation Agreement

The DPSA has reassured public servants of its commitment to implementing the Wage Negotiation Agreement, further confirming the provision of employee benefits on levels 1 – 12 covered by OSDs.

The Department of Public Service and Administration (DPSA) has committed to implementing the Wage Negotiation Agreement, in a statement issued on Thursday, 19 August 2021. It stated that the Public Service Coordinating Bargaining Council (PSCBC) Resolution 1 of 2021, aimed at providing improvements to conditions of service in public service, recently concluded.

The DPSA confirmed that its Director-General, Yoliswa Makhasi had reiterated government’s commitment to implementing the 2021/22 wage negotiation for its public servants as soon as possible. The PSCBC Resolution 1 of 2021 will set out to provide the implementation of two distinct types of employee benefits on salary levels 1 – 12, with those employees being covered by occupation specific dispensations (OSDs) on equivalent levels.

These will include the payment of non-pensionable monthly cash allowances, with effect from 1 April 2021, to be implemented on or before 15 September 2021. Levels 1 – 5 will be allocated an allowance of R1 220.00, levels 6 – 7 will be allocated R1 352.00, levels 8 – 9 will be allocated R1 450.00, levels 10 – 11 will be allocated R1 640.00, and level 12 will receive R1 695.00. Makhasi has reassured public servants that the department’s officials are working tirelessly to ensure a smooth delivery on the agreed commitments.
