Zuma unable to attend Wednesday’s State Capture Commission proceedings
The State Capture Commission took to Twitter to confirm that Advocate Sikhakhane has expressed that his client, Jacob Zuma, will not attend Wednesday’s proceedings due to a funeral.
The State Capture Commission took to Twitter today, 17 November 2020, to confirm that Advocate Muzi Sikhakhane has confirmed that former president, Jacob Zuma will not make an appearance before the commission on Wednesday, 18 November 2020. According to the post, Zuma will be attending a funeral on the day.
Today was meant to be a continuation of the proceedings from Monday, 16 November 2020, which marked the first day of Zuma’s application to have presiding Chairperson of the Commission, Judge Raymond Zondo recuse himself. The application is based on Zuma’s suspicions that Zondo is not impartial and has already assumed that he is in the wrong. While Zondo was expected to give his verdict on the matter today, he did not.
According to the commission, Zondo “was supposed to make a ruling and/or a judgement today regarding the application for the recusal, but he says he is still working on it and that there are some documents that he still needs to go through first.”
See the post below.
