Zuma Foundation addresses Zondo Commission subpoena

Published on

The Zuma Foundation has released a statement on the amended subpoena that has been issued against the former president, suggesting that having the “ailing” politician appear is only politically motivated.

The Jacob Zuma Foundation released a statement on Thursday, 8 October 2020, endorsed by the former president, on the matter of the amended subpoena that was dealt to Zuma. This relates to his contentious appearance before the Zondo State Capture Commission. Zuma is now required to appear in November 2020.

However, the statement seems to suggest that the subpoena is a personal retaliation by the commission, following Zuma’s failure to appear before the Zondo Commission in September 2020. Additionally, the statement suggests that Judge Raymond Zondo seems to be personally invested in having Zuma take the stand.

Despite Zuma’s beliefs about Justice Zondo, there have been many calls for him to appear and account for his alleged involvement in State Capture.
