Liquideep front-man Ziyon has sparked social media conversation by alluding to the release of new music of a different sound than what his loyal fans are used to.
House vocalist Ziyon was the featured guest on Kid Fonque’s radio show on 5FM called Selective Styles on Sunday, 3 March 2019, resulting in speculation about an upcoming album from him. Ziyon, real name Jonathan Hamilton, showcased some of his vaulted and latest beats on the show.
In the lead-up to the interview, Ziyon had taken to Twitter to hint at a possible upcoming album, which would not have him singing but breaking his own mould and making the music. On Wednesday, 27 February 2019, he wrote on Twitter,”Genres no longer matter. Music does.”
The tweet sparked interest and conversation around whether or not the vocalist, and Liquideep frontman, was preparing to release an album that was not his usual sound.
Popular artists such as rapper Reason commented, “I feel a trap album coming,” and hip-hop artist Nasty C simply thanked him for the music.
Ziyon’s last released body of work was an EP called Clear Skies, a four-track dance and electronic-infused offering. His last album, Audio Alchemy, was released in 2014. Ziyon has not directly addressed the speculations on whether or not he is working on a new album, different from his past projects, but has retweeted the comments.
Ziyon is currently promoting his single with DJ Mshega called How do you feel, which was released in February 2019.
