YG Entertainment urges fans to stop sending letters to G-Dragon

On Saturday, 10 February, YG Entertainment issued a statement, asking G-Dragon’s fans to refrain from sending letters during his enlistment.

Big Bang’s management agency asked for fans’ understanding, giving a reasonable explanation for their request – the large influx of letters had paralysed their work at the military training base.

“Urgent Notice to all G-Dragon fans,” reads the statement. “We thank you for your support, G-Dragon is in good health and concentrated on his training. But due to the large influx of letters, G-Dragon has been put in an awkward position within his unit.”

According to the agency, “training center’s email account has been flooded with messages to G-Dragon, and the work within the unit has been paralyzed”.

Apparently, due to the overload of messages, the unit has almost run out of A4 paper and ink, making it difficult for the other soldiers to receive their own letters. “Because of that, G-Dragon feels sorry for his comrades and also, for his fans, since he can’t read all the messages,” reads the statement.

YG Entertainment thanked fans for their constant support and care, however, it concluded with a kind request – “we would appreciate if you could refrain from sending their letters at least for a while” so that G-Dragon experiences a smooth training life.
