Why Vinny Guadagnino quit Jersey Shore

Vinny Guadagnino quit reality TV show, Jersey Shore back in 2012 – here’s why.

About Jersey Shore

Jersey Shore is an American reality television series that ran on MTV from December 3, 2009 to December 20, 2012 in the United States.

The series follows the lives of eight housemates who spend their summer together at a vacation home. The housemates are all of Italian-American descent and each portray one the common stereotypes associated with this group of people.

During its six-season run, Jersey Shore became a pop culture phenomenon. At its end, the show spawned a collection of spin-off series for its stars.

During the fifth season of Jersey Shore, housemate Vinny Guadagnino abruptly exited the show.

Vinny Guadagnino’s departure

Following the premise of the show the cast members spent the fourth season holidaying in Italy. Shortly after their return to the US, filming for the fifth season in New Jersey began.

Having had very little time to recuperate from the Italy trip, housemate Vinny was not up for being involved in another season of raucous behaviour.

Vinny Guadagnino was quoting as saying, “I had to go home to recharge.” He also described feeling as if he had hit a wall.

This was his statement:

“We just came from Italy, and you know we all hit a wall at some point. We all kind of reached our breaking point in some way because it was so hard, the schedule, you will see my personal problems happen in the first couple of episodes. I’m just the type of person, when I’m feeling like that, I need certain things.”

Vinny headed right home to his native Staten Island to catch his breath.

Vinny’s fellow housemates were upset by his departure feeling that they had lost a ‘brother’. Most distraught was Vinny’s best mate, Pauly.

Where is he now?

Since his success on Jersey Shore, Vinny Guadagnino has pursued his acting career focusing on comedy work. His most recent work however has been to feature on Jersey Shore Family Vacation which premiered on MTV globally as of 5 April 2018.
