Five fingers for Marseilles
Drama, Western
‘Five Fingers for Marseilles’ is a predominantly Sesotho, Western-inspired tale of an outlaw who returns home after years on the run and finds a chance for redemption.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks
Classic
The Bioscope holds a once monthly screening of a classic movie. Bedknobs and Broomsticks (1971) is a Disney classic. An apprentice witch, three kids and a cynical conman search for the missing component to a magic spell useful to the defence of Britain.
Screening on April 6 and 7 at 12:00.

THEATRE
Carmen
Joburg Theatre
The Joburg Ballet company brings South African choreographer Veronica Paeper’s production of Carmen to Joburg Theatre for ten performances from 6 to 15 April. Joburg Ballet will perform to live orchestral accompaniment by the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Sound of Music
The Teatro at Montecasino
The Sound of Music returns to the Teatro stage at Montecasino in this all-star South African production. The show will run from March 31, 2018 until April 29, 2018.

Classic cars show and the Joburg Prawn festival
Turffontein racecourse
Horse races, a Classic Car Show, gin and craft beer festival and the much-loved Joburg Prawn Festival.

The Linden Market
Johannesburg Botanical Gardens
This market hosts more than one hundred market stalls selling local crafts, antiques, drinks and food. There is also an early morning yoga session and live music.

The Red Bull Music Festival
The Red Bull Music Festival ends this weekend. The festival will showcase some of South Africa’s most popular musicians. The festival starts off at four venues in Braamfontein on Friday and ends in Soweto on Sunday at Zone 6.

Joburg Collectable Book Fair
Rand Club
This event is a book fair dedicated to antique and collectable books. On sale are antique maps, posters from South Africa’s struggle era, first edition books, antique postcards and documents and collectable travel and exploration books.

Mrs + Mr Luke – The New New
Art exhibition
