Wesgro appoints Wrenelle Stander as new CEO

Wesgro has announced the appointment of its new CEO, Wrenelle Stander, who is set to assume her new role in October 2021, taking over from Tim Harris.

Wesgro announced the appointment of its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Wrenelle Stander in a statement on Wednesday, 8 September 2021. The agency informed that following a rigorous and lengthy recruitment process, Stander is set to take over the reins from Tim Harris.

Michael Spicer, Chairman of the Board, described Stander as an exceptionally experienced leader with an attractive public and private sector track record. Stander is said to have led multiple large-scale enterprises, specifically in the transport and energy sectors, and has held key executive positions at Comair and Sasol, amongst others.

Wesgro is noted as being the agency mandated with growing the economy of the Cape, positioning the region to attract investors, filmmakers, buyers and tourists. Stander is expected to assume her new role in October 2021, and the agency has welcomed her appointment as it moves into the third quarter.
