French record producer Gesaffelstein teamed up with Pharrell Williams for the single Blast Off. The music video for the collaborative song was released on Sunday, 14 April 2019.
The Warren Fu-directed music video shows a metal-mould man who is producing beats on a futuristic light board control panel. Scenes of Pharrell delivering his verses are intertwined and show him wearing a fancy pair of sunglasses, surrounded by mirrors. Other scenes include visually stimulating imagery, where the French DJ’s control board constructs obscure beats, which are depicted through CGI images. Eventually, Pharrell takes of his glasses to reveal that his eyes shoot mysterious powerful laser rays.
The song hears Pharrell singing about taking a leap of faith and entering another dimension. He talks about feeling elevated and free once reaching this climax, and encourages people to join in on this movement. The music video for Blast Off has received over one hundred thousand views on YouTube since its release.
