Wanna One the first act confirmed for KCON 2018 NY

KCON USA named K-pop boy band Wanna One as the first act confirmed to perform at KCON 2018 New York.

On Thursday, 5 April 2018, KCON USA, the world’s largest K-pop culture convention and music festival, announced the appearance of the South Korean boy band Wanna One (워너원) as the first artist in its star-studded 2018 lineup.

The 11-person project Wanna One was formed by CJ E&M through Mnet’s survival boy group reality show Produce 101 Season 2 in 2017. The members who made it to the final 11 were: Kang Daniel, Park Ji Hoon, Lee Dae Hwi, Kim Jae Hwan, Ong Seong Wu, Park Woo Jin, Lai Kuan Lin, Yoon Ji Sung, Bae Jin Young, Hwang Min Hyun, Ha Sung Woon.

Meanwhile, Wanna One is rocking the music world, dominating international charts with title track ‘Boomerang’ from their second mini album ‘0+1=0 (I Promise You)’.

More recently, the band revealed the dates of the ‘Wanna One World Tour – ONE: THE WORLD’.

KCON is an annual Korean wave (Hallyu) convention, dedicated to bring “All Things Hallyu” to the American fan base. KCON is the one place where every element of Hallyu encompassing pop music, TV dramas, movies, fashion, food, and beauty can be experienced and celebrated.

KCON is produced by CJ E&M, one of Asia’s leading content companies, and its global music channel, Mnet.

KCON 2018 NY is set to take place on 23 to 24 June 2018 at the Prudential Center in New York, USA.
