Vodacom’s flagship cellular mall – Vodacom World – situated in Midrand, Johannesburg, will undergo major renovations, announced the company in a statement on Thursday, 8 March.
Starting from 17 March, the mall will be closed, and will re-open later this year.
The revamped Vodacom World will be offering a “unique experience for customers of all ages, showcasing the latest consumer technologies and offering a personalised in-store experience,” reads the statement.
Jorge Mendes, Chief Officer for Sales and Distribution for Vodacom Group believes that Vodacom World “was the first of its kind” since it opened its doors back in 1998. “It was positioned as the showcase of the latest in cellular products and services with Original Equipment Manufacturers partnering in the space to complete the full range or technology available in the marketplace,” said Mendes.
Aiming at becoming a leading digital company, “Vodacom World will undergo a digital transformation which will reposition it as the destination of choice – evolving from a one-stop cellular mall, to a digitally connected world,” added Mendes.
