Virgil Abloh debuts at Paris Fashion Week, features Kid Cudi

Yesterday, 21 June 2018, Louis Vuitton creative director, Virgil Abloh debuted his first collection featuring famed musicians

Virgil Abloh’s first Louis Vuitton show took place yesterday, 21 June 2018, at Palais Royal. In congruence with Abloh’s interest in music as part of his creative process, the show featured the likes of Steve Lacy, Dev Hynes, Kid Cudi, and Playboi Carti as fashion models. To round off the show, Abloh took to the runway and ended his walk by sharing an emotional hug from his long-time friend and collaborator, Kanye West.

According to Vogue, “Lacy donned a sheer white shirt and some rave-ready pants while Hynes walked in a subtly quilted off-white trench. Cudi wore a pale mint green hoodie; and Carti looked ready for a trip to the moon with his iridescent duffel bag and cellophane-esque poncho.”

Abloh was appointed as the Louis Vuitton creative director back in March of this year. Music has always been part of his creative process. He has deejayed since his teenage years and has recently released a collaborative EP with Berlin-based producer Boys Noize. Furthermore, Abloh debuted his new ‘Beats 1 radio show’ on Apple Music on Monday, 18 June 2018.
