Umgeni Water has announced the resignation of acting chief executive, Nomalungelo Mkhize, who is to be replaced by Sandile Dube.
In an announcement to its shareholders on Monday, 11 October 2021, the Umgeni Water Board announced the resignation of its current acting chief executive and the appointment of a new one. The board informed that it had received and accepted the resignation of Nomalungelo Mkhize, the current acting chief executive.
Mkhize’s resignation took effect from Friday, 8 October 2021. The Umgeni shareholders were advised that the board had therefore appointed Sandile Dube, who currently holds the position of the executive for operations, as its new acting chief executive in the interim, while the board awaits guidance from the Minister of Water and Sanitation on the process to fill the position of chief executive.
Dube assumed his new role on 8 October 2021, and is noted to be a member of the Executive Committee of Umgeni Water, with the board expressing its full confidence in him.
