The show returned to screens on Sunday, 25 November 2018, after months of anticipation but Twitter users were not happy with the overall episode.

Fans of the popular dating show, Date My Family, expressed their disappointed with the most recent episode of the show which aired on Sunday, 25 November 2018.

The show had been off the air since Idols SA took its Sunday timeslot months ago. Fans took to Twitter to comment on what they thought was a lackluster episode.

Masana Mabasa added a pouty meme to her tweet and complained: “We waited all year for this?” Others like Lessy Jantjie simply called it a “boring episode”. TLC Presenter, Carissa Cupido, said she felt the episode was “cringy.”

Last night’s episode featured male hopeful, Francois, whose date decided she only wanted to be friends. Melissa’s decision to make a friend rather than a boyfriend out of Francois made Twitter users feel sorry for the participant.

“The episode was not worth opening status and the friendzone stamped and certified it,” said Bongile Mtayisi commenting on Melissa’s decision.

Despite the overall awkwardness of the show, users were excited about the return of the program. Monehelo Radinotshi tweeted:“Finally, we can watch TV again. #DMF is back!!!”

Some users were just excited to interact with their fellow viewers again. “HELLO #DateMyFamily team. It feels good to reunite. It’s been a while hey! #dmf,” Princy Mthombeni said.
