The Department of Tourism has called on eligible tourism enterprises to apply for the TTF and GTIP programmes, for funding and support by the NEF and the IDC.
On Friday, 1 October 2021, the Department of Tourism called on all eligible enterprises to apply for the Tourism Transformation Fund (TTF) and the Green Tourism Incentive Programme (GTIP) from 1 October 2021. The TTF will serve to assist small and micro Black-owned tourism enterprises to expand and grow, creating a new generation of Black-owned tourism enterprises.
The programme is implemented and administered by the National Empowerment Fund (NEF). It will provide a combination of grant funding from the department and debt financing or equity contributions from the NEF, as a way to drive capital investment in the sector by Black investors.
The GTIP will serve to assist private sector tourism enterprises to reduce the cost of investing in energy and water efficient operations, permitting them to adhere to responsible tourism practices whilst also reducing their operation costs. The GTIP will be administered by the Industrial Development Corporation.
