Tito Mboweni took to social media and launched into a series of tweets about Mzwandile Masina and another unnamed politician, speculated to be Jacob Zuma.

Minister of Finance, Tito Mboweni took to social media on Monday, 31 August 2020, and launched into a series of tweets about members of the ruling party who need to be called to order. His first tweet called for unity within the leadership of the ANC. He followed the initial tweet with one that lambasted ANC leaders that are feeding the “frenzy.” He named Mzwandile Masina as one of the leaders that need to be called to order.

His subsequent tweets then addressed an unnamed politician who is allegedly not being truthful about his time in leadership. Many speculated that he was referring to former president, Jacob Zuma, as Mboweni mentioned a tell-all book that the politician has been promising to release. He further stated, “This thing of some, amongst us retired ones, wanting to dictate from the grave is wrong! Particularly those who were [part] of nine years of destruction.”
