Thys, who has been diagnosed with the chronic auto-immune disease, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), has suffered many setbacks in the last few years.

And, unfortunately, his mother Elize has now confirmed that he has once again been admitted to the hospital and is in a serious condition.

Thys die Bosveldklong’s diagnosis

Thys was first diagnosed with MS in 2019 after reportedly seeking help for his symptoms for over four years.

Thys and his family have not shared many details about his diagnosis publicly, but people who suffer from the disease often report symptoms ranging from blurred vision, pain, trouble with walking and balance, to numbness, muscle weakness, fatigue and more.

MS is a largely unpredictable disease which affects the central nervous system, and it may manifest very differently from one patient to the next. There is no known cure for MS, but its symptoms can be treated and managed to an extent.

Thys die Bosveldklong’s condition

Over the last couple of years, Thys has been confined to a wheelchair and even been bedridden on account of this disease.

More recently, on 24 April 2024, Thys was admitted to a hospital just outside of Pretoria after suffering a stroke a few weeks prior.

Doctors were initially worried about Thys’ high temperature and traces of infection, but his condition has now deteriorated, with additional infections being noted in his kidneys and brain.

The road ahead

At this point, the future of Thys’s condition is very uncertain. His family members have expressed their wishes to have him transferred to a bigger hospital with specialized care and to fly his son out to be by his side.

However, with funds drying up quickly, they have reportedly had to rely on the support of fans and various benevolent do-gooders in the community.

In the meantime, the family has asked the public for their prayers in this difficult time and has also asked that fans respect their privacy as they navigate his changing condition one step at a time.
