On Thursday, 17 May 2018 Political Analysis South Africa’s Thando Maeko spoke to Lerato Gambu who is the Spokesperson for the National Youth Development Agency.
The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) has expressed concern over the high number of youth unemployment in the country. Gambu says the NYDA has come up with a number of proposals, including scrapping work experience requirements, to ensure that the 3.3 million unemployed youth are absorbed into the labour market.

NYDA appoints Waseem Carrim as its CEO
The National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) has announced that it has appointed Waseem Carrim as its new Chief Financial Officer (CEO).
This follows the departure of Khatu Ramukumba from the position. Carrim has held the position as Acting CEO for four months.
In a statement released on 29 March 2018, the Agency expressed confidence in Carrim’s abilities to lead it.
