No results appeal from Senegalese opposition despite rejection
The four opposition candidates in the Senegalese presidential elections, through the voice of Idrissa Seck, rejected the provisional results of the election.
The results, which confirmed victory of Macky Sall in the first round, were rejectd by the opposition, stressing however that they would “make no appeal” to the Constitutional Council, even though the Electoral Code gives them this right.

President Macky Sall, who will seek re-election when Senegal goes to the polls on 24 February 2019, was on the campaign trail in the north-western town of Kebemer on Monday, 4 February 2019, boasting of his achievements during his first term in office.
Kebemer is home to his predecessor Abdoulaye Wade whom he defeated in the second round of the 2012 presidential election.

Senegal president inaugurates new dual-carriage highway
President Macky Sall on Thursday, 20 December 2018, inaugurated the 115-kilometer autoroute Ila Touba, a new dual-carriage highway linking Thies to Touba.
Sall, in his speech, carried live and monitored on Senegalese private radio, rfm, announced that the new toll road was constructed at a cost of 415 billion Fcfa and funded by the China Eximbank.
Work on the highway project started in January 2015, with 4000 Senegalese workers engaged, and as many as 450 Senegalese will be employed to operate
