Dr. Juno Thomas, who is the Head of the Centre for Enteric Disease at the NICD, says they are unsure when the listeriosis outbreak will lessen.
Speaking to Political Analysis South Africa on Monday, 9 April 2019, Thomas said that the number of cases of listeriosis have, however, decreased weekly since the Health Minister, Aaron Motsoaledi announced a recall of processed meats last month.

On Monday, 5 March, South African Breweries (SAB) released a statement confirming that the Rosslyn Brewery is not impacted by the listeriosis outbreak in South Africa.
In the statement, SAB assured the public that none of its breweries, including the Rosslyn Brewery outside of Pretoria, is contaminated by listeriosis, an infection caused by the bacteria Listeria monocytogenes.
