Senegal president inaugurates new dual-carriage highway
President Macky Sall on Thursday, 20 December 2018, inaugurated the 115-kilometer autoroute Ila Touba, a new dual-carriage highway linking Thies to Touba.
Sall, in his speech, carried live and monitored on Senegalese private radio, rfm, announced that the new toll road was constructed at a cost of 415 billion Fcfa and funded by the China Eximbank.
Work on the highway project started in January 2015, with 4000 Senegalese workers engaged, and as many as 450 Senegalese will be employed to operate
