State Capture Commission to provide update on Jacob Zuma’s appearance
The State Capture Commission released a statement announcing its intentions to provide an update on Jacob Zuma’s appearance, following numerous media enquiries.
The State Capture Commission’s Twitter page released a statement on Sunday, 20 September 2020, promising to provide an update on former president, Jacob Zuma’s appearance. The former president was set to appear sometime this week, however, his legal team reportedly claimed that he would not be available on the scheduled date.
News of Zuma not appearing before the Commission sparked speculation about him avoiding the appearance out of fear of implicating himself. According to the statement, the update will be provided in response to numerous media enquiries on the matter.
“The Commission will either issue a media statement tomorrow, 21 September 2020, or the chairperson will address the media queries or update the public at the commencement of the proceedings relating to the R1 billion Free State project,” the statement read.
