State Capture Commission to continue hearing Zuma’s application for Zondo’s recusal
The State Capture Commission is set to mark its third day of hearing Zuma’s application for Zondo’s recusal, despite him being unable to attend the proceedings.
The State Capture Commission took to Twitter on Tuesday, 17 November 2020, to stipulate the proceedings for Wednesday, 18 November 2020. The commission is set to continue hearing former president, Jacob Zuma’s application to have the Chairperson of the Commission, Deputy Chief Justice (DCJ) Raymond Zondo recuse himself from the commission.
The verdict on the application was initially meant to be delivered on the second day of the hearing. However, Zondo adjourned the commission on Tuesday without delivering his verdict, claiming that he needed to work through some documentation first.
Zuma has excused himself from the upcoming proceedings, as it was revealed that he has to attend a funeral today. The proceedings are set to begin at 10:00, and the public has been advised that strict COVID-19 regulations will be adhered to.
