Floyd Shivambu is amongst those criticising the appointment of Ranjeni Munusamy by the Department of Finance, despite the corruption allegations hanging over her head.
Deputy President of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Floyd Shivambu took to Twitter on Wednesday, 21 October 2020, to remark on Minister Tito Mboweni’s reported appointment of former journalist, Ranjeni Munusamy. This was after Mboweni posted an image of the team he is working with on the Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement (MTBPS).
In 2019, Munusamy was implicated in a testimony at the State Capture Commission, as she allegedly received a payment to settle a car payment. The money is said to have come from a slush fund of the Crime Intelligence Department. Munusamy then reportedly requested to cross-examine the witness to clear her name.
Despite having not cleared her name yet, Munusamy has been appointed as the Community Outreach Officer, according to reports. Shivambu reacted to the news by claiming that Mboweni does not care for accountability, hence the appointment of Munusamy.

Mr. @tito_mboweni doesn’t seem to care about accountability. He doesn’t. https://t.co/LtMcAFaza4
