Floyd Shivambu has joined the several political figures claiming that the State Capture Commission is biased and is a fishing expedition swayed by factional fights within the ANC.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) took to Twitter on Wednesday, 24 February 2021, to share the sentiments of its Deputy President, Floyd Shivambu. This comes ahead of the court proceedings to have President Cyril Ramaphosa’s 2017 (CR17) election campaign bank statements unsealed.
The party confirmed earlier this week that it is set to appear in front of the Pretoria High Court in mid-March to pursue the matter. Moreover, Shivambu was drawn into a conversation on the stance of the EFF on the State Capture Commission.
Shivambu, in his statements, echoed the sentiments previously shared by the party’s Commander-In-Chief (CIC), Julius Malema, who claimed that the commission is biased and is allegedly swayed by factional fights within the ruling party. The EFF has been more vocal on its stance since Malema had his tea party with former president, Jacob Zuma, which was perceived as Malema pledging his allegiance to Zuma.
