Season 2 of the popular South African series The Herd premiered on Sunday, 7 April 2019 and received rave reviews from its loyal viewers.
The well-received Sunday night drama series welcomed a few new cast members to the show, which include Nunu Khumalo who plays Dudu and Nomsa Nene who plays MaMthembu, MaMngadi’s mother, who is also a witch.
MaMngadi credits her powers to MaMthembu, however, they share no mother-daughter relationship and keep things strictly professional.
Bheki Sibaya plays the character of Smangaliso, the older brother of Bhekisizwe Mthethwa, who has been in and out of jail for most of his life and comes back to take over his dead brother’s family and farm. Lastly, Enhle Mbali Maphumulo joins the cast as Ayanda, who is a school teacher and also Muzi’s girlfriend.
The storyline kicked off approximately six months later, when MaMngadi revealed that she doesn’t want to be a witch anymore.
Season 2 explores her decision of choosing between continuing on her redemptive journey or falling back into witchcraft.
Fans took to social media to declare their glee for the introduction of the new characters into the drama series.
