SASSA took to Twitter to announce that it will not be accepting any more appeals for the COVID-19 SRD grant as from Sunday, 28 February 2021.
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) took to Twitter on Friday, 26 February 2021, to announce the cut-off date for appeals for the COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant. The closing date was stipulated as Sunday, 28 February 2021; meaning that as of today, 1 March 2021, the agency will not be accepting new appeals.
However, it is believed that previously lodged appeals that are still pending will be attended to. In response to a Twitter user that inquired on the matter, SASSA stated, “If your application is pending or SASSA has not given an outcome to your application, please do not re-apply. SASSA is still processing all applications. Once this is completed, feedback shall be provided. Please (direct message) DM your ID number and full name so we can follow-up.”
