SARS acknowledges technical glitch on website

Published on

SARS has acknowledged a technical glitch on its website that is being attended to, which has led to some people being unable to upload certain documents.

The South African Revenue Services (SARS) took to Twitter on Tuesday, 12 January 2021, to make a public service announcement regarding a disruption in its online services. In the announcement, SARS confirmed that it is aware of a technical glitch on its website.

The post read, “SARS is aware of certain forms not loading correctly due to Adobe Flash. We are currently working on resolving the matter and will advise once the problem has been resolved. We sincerely apologise for the current inconvenience.”

The announcement was met with pushback, considering that Adobe Flash had previously announced that it would be suspending Flash this year. However, it seems that SARS was not aware of the matter or did not attend to it beforehand. SARS was unable to provide an estimated turnaround time for the matter to be resolved.
