Ramaphosa to deliver oral responses to parliamentary questions in NA hybrid sitting

Parliament has shared some questions addressed to the president, as he is expected to join a hybrid sitting of the National Assembly and respond orally.

The African National Congress (ANC) Parliament, on Friday, 3 September 2021, announced that President Cyril Ramaphosa will be joining a hybrid sitting of the National Assembly. Ramaphosa is set to respond to questions addressed to him for oral reply by fellow members of Parliament.

John Steenhuisen, the leader the Democratic Alliance (DA), is expected to ask Ramaphosa “whether he uses a set of criteria to assess the suitability of potential candidates before appointing them to positions of Minister in his Cabinet in accordance with section 91(2) of the Constitution, and if not, what is the position in this regard?”

The leader of the African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP), Kenneth Raselabe is expected to inquire about the steps the government is taking to protect employees who were given ultimatums by employers to take the vaccine. Moreover, tenants who are being forced to vaccinate so as to not risk losing their accommodation.
