Ramaphosa calls for service delivery focused on meeting citizens’ needs and interests

Published on

President Ramaphosa has honoured public servants in commemoration of Public Service Month, calling for them to participate in the new integrated model for service delivery to SA citizens.

On Monday, 6 September 2021, President Cyril Ramaphosa paid tribute to public servants in commemoration of Public Service Month for the continued positive difference they make in the country every day. He also noted that since the outbreak of COVID-19, civil servants have displayed courage and resilience in performing their duties.

Ramaphosa pointed out how the pandemic exposed the gaps between the planning and execution of public service delivery, noting that last year, he had referred to the need for a new integrated model for service delivery. The model, according to him, was responsive, adaptive and developmental.

He also called on public servants to engage in this process by identifying ways of establishing a public service focused on meeting the needs and advancing the interests of citizens. Ramaphosa further highlighted that the professionalism of public servants has kept the country afloat and brought about hope to the people.
