Robert Marawa will not join the Radio 2000 team for now.
On Tuesday, 3 April 2018, Radio 2000 announced via social media platforms that it would be broadcasting a new line-up.
This line-up was supposed to include veteran radio jockey’s Glen Lewis and Robert Marawa.
The new line-up was intended to have hit the airwaves from 1 April.
It has been reported that regarding Marawa, no contract has been signed between the sports caster and the radio station.
Marawa and the station have been engaged in argument over scheduling times.
Marawa was initially meant to host a two-hour sports show between 17:00 and 19:00 on weekdays. The station then receded this offer and proposed a one-hour slot between 18:00 and 19:00.
It is alleged that the original time slot has caused contention because Marawa would be in competition for air time with Thomas Mlambo from Metro FM.
Mlambo has taken over the Ultimate Sports Show from Udo Carelse between 6 pm and 7:30 pm.
Marawa previously worked for Metro FM until a fallout happened between the two parties in July 2017.
Radio 2000 has since deleted the posted announcement from all media platforms.
SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago, reiterated that no contracts have been signed yet and that no official statement has been issued from his office regarding a new line-up.
Kganyago said Marawa could still join Radio 2000 at a later stage if the two parties come to an agreement on outstanding matters.
