Absa Premiership result: Baroka FC 0-0 Free State Stars, Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane.
A goalless stalemate in what was the only Absa Premiership match on Wednesday night, 26 September 2018, saw Baroka and Free State Stars move up the table.
Both Bakgaga and Stars moved up two places with the point earned, Baroka from fifteenth to thirteenth and Stars from ten to position eight in the Absa Premiership table.
Baroka’s head coach Wedson Nyirenda was not particularly happy with the point and endless waste of goal chances but was satisfied with the performance.
“It is another two points lost. We just gave it away again. Like I have said in previous games, if we were serious we could have won with an avalanche of goals. We keep singing the same song. Otherwise I am happy with the way we are playing,” Nyirenda said after the game.
His opposite number, Luc Eymael, was chuffed with the point, considering his team ‘did not play nice football.’
“It is a point earned on the road, but we were not very good today. To be honest we did not deserve to win because we did not create enough chances. We did not play a nice brand of football. I am sorry to the supporters and everyone who was watching this game. It was nice not soccer,” Eymael said.
Here is the PSL log after the match:
|8||Free State Stars||8||8|
|11||Cape Town City||6||6|
League football will now resume next week Tuesday, 2 October 2018, while the MTN8 Final takes place this weekend.
