PSL log after Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns results in week seven

Absa Premiership log standings after the round seven results on Wednesday, 19 September 2018.

Third-placed Pirates blew an opportunity to draw level points with joint-leaders Bidvest Wits and Bloemfontein Celtic, when it drew 2-2 with Cape Town City on Wednesday evening at the Orlando Stadium. The Buccaneers’ title rivals Mamelodi Sundowns picked up a crucial three points on the road against an unsettled Golden Arrows.

Pirates is kicking itself for the dropped points as the Sea Robbers now finds itself trailing the top brass by two points.

Cape Town City is duly happy with Wednesday night’s away draw, after losing three points from its previous game at home. Benni McCarthy’s troops have now gone up from twelfth to tenth spot for the Pirates draw.

Sundowns is smiling as it jumps from position nine to six, while its losing opponents Arrows is left worried after marking five games without a win.
