PSL fixture preview: Mamelodi Sundowns v Highlands Park

Published on

Absa Premiership fixture, Mamelodi Sundowns v Highlands Park at 19h30 from the Lucas Moripe Stadium, Pretoria.

Mamelodi Sundowns takes on Highlands Park this evening. Sundowns will be hoping to make it two wins from as many league games as they continue to defend their PSL crown.

Including the MTN8 cup, the Brazilians are unbeaten so far season in the domestic league, drawing with Kaizer Chiefs, easily brushing past Golden Arrows and Polokwane City respectively:

1 – 1 v Kaizer Chiefs (home)

2 – 0 v Golden Arrows (home)

2 – 0 v Polokwane City (away).

Sundowns looks just as strong as it did last season and it’s fair to say that Pitso Mosimane’s men are still the most feared team in the country.

They now face another stern test though, this time against newly promoted Highlands Park, who is tipped to be a force to be reckoned with this season.

However, Highlands Park is yet to lose on its return to Mzansi’s premier division so far:

1 – 1 v Orlando Pirates (away)

2 – 2 v Black Leopards (home).

The previous three meetings between the two sides favours Sundowns to come out with a win tonight.

Below are Sundowns v Park’s past three results:

Park 2 – 2 Sundowns

Sundowns 5 – 0 Park

Park 0 – 1 Sundowns.

With the Lions of the North never beating Ka Bo Yellow before, tonight will be a tough ask for a team that never played any midweek night games in the lower division.

Catch tonight’s game live on SS4 or at 19h30.
