Productivity SA pushes for increased productivity this Productivity Month

Published on

Productivity SA has challenged South Africans to realise that productivity will be the key contributor to achieving set economic goals, and lead to economic growth this Productivity Month.

Productivity SA issued a statement on Tuesday, 12 October 2021, in which it highlighted the need for the creation of productive employment as October is Productivity Month. It is challenging everyone to make this month their most productive month.

The organisation noted how Productivity Month was launched together with the Department of Employment and Labour in 2004, as a way to create awareness at promoting productivity growth and improvement in South Africa. It has, however, observed that the country’s competitiveness has dropped six places between 2019 and 2021.

Productivity SA also stressed the need for time not to be wasted any further in achieving set goals because it believes that without productivity, there will be no economic growth. It also believes that productivity will be the key enabling factor that adds value to the resources South Africa needs to compete in global markets and contribute to the enhancement of life.
