PPC appoints Kunyalala Maphisa as non-executive director

PPC has released a statement confirming the appointment of Kunyalala Maphisa as a non-executive director, in addition to her joining two of the committees of the construction company.

PPC Limited released a statement on Wednesday, 27 January 2021, to announce the appointment of a new non-executive director, Kunyalala Maphisa. In addition to being appointed as a non-executive director, Maphisa will also be joining the Investment Committee and the Social, Ethics and Transformation Committee.

According to the statement, “Kunyalala served articles of clerkship at JanS de Villiers, (incorporated into Werkmans Attorneys) and is an admitted attorney. Kunyalala, an entrepreneur, has served on a number of Boards of companies and Non-Profit Organizations.

“She has extensive experience in commercial law, having worked for more than 15 years in areas spanning Mergers and Acquisitions, Competition law and Project and Acquisition Finance. She has worked as a senior executive in a number of companies and done work in a number of African countries outside South Africa including Nigeria, Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, Cote d’Ivoire, Kenya, Zambia and Zimbabwe.”

The statement further noted that despite the formal announcement being made today, her appointment takes effect from Monday, 1 February 2021.
