Poll on Ramaphosa’s handling of corruption criticised by some

Published on

Newzroom Afrika launched a Twitter poll for the public to rate President Cyril Ramaphosa’s handling of corruption in recent weeks, however, some were quick to dismiss it as biased.

Newzroom Afrika took to Twitter to launch a poll on President Cyril Ramaphosa’s handling of corruption on Wednesday, 2 September 2020. The poll provided four options for the public to choose from, with the lowest being a 25 percent rate. Some users were quick to question the poll options and dismiss it as biased.

Twitter users took to the comments section to state that they merely opted for the 25 percent option as that is the lowest option provided. Moreover, there were some comments that stipulated that they would give Ramaphosa zero, as he has not made any arrests yet.

Others went on to draw parallels between the media houses’ reporting on the president with that of ANN7’s reporting on former president, Jacob Zuma.
