Patricia De Lille addresses corruption allegations

Patricia De Lille has issued a statement addressing the corruption allegations levelled against her, and has asserted her efforts to root out corruption and wrongdoing.

Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Patricia De Lille took to Twitter on Monday, 21 September 2020, to address the allegations of corruption that have been levelled against her. In setting the context of the allegations, De Lille named suspended Director-General, Sam Vukela, former Deputy Director-General, Dhaya Govender, and the Democratic Alliance (DA).

De Lille started off by clarifying that when she was appointed as the minister of the department, it was already rife with corruption scandals. Upon assuming the role, she claims that she was not only forced to deal with the wrongdoings from before her tenure, but also ensure that it didn’t happened under her watch.
