Oh Dal-su and Choi Il-hwa to be removed from Along With the Gods 2

Amid the virality of the #MeToo movement, the Korean entertainment industry is being severely hit, as more and more victims are coming forward about sexual harassment in South Korea.

The sexual harassment controversy brings trouble to hundreds of producers, staff members, as well as fellow actors, in some cases disrupting the release dates of movies and songs, sometimes even leading to some scenes being completely edited.

Such is the case with the follow-up to last year’s December mega-hit ‘Along With the Gods: The Two Worlds (Hangeul: 신과 함께)’.

With actors Oh Dal-su (오달수) and Choi Il-hwa (최일화) being accused of sexual harassment, the production crew of the ‘Along with the Gods 2’ took the decision to re-shoot the scenes involving the two actors and totally replace them from the film when it is released this summer in August.

To edit both Oh and Choi out of the movie will require the studio to find replacements for them, in order to re-shoot scenes as well as rebuild the set, which will increase production costs.

Meanwhile, Oh has also filmed three other movies that have yet to be released. The actor plays lead roles in all three movies, which include “Next Door Neighbor,” “I Want to See Your Parents’ Face” and “Control.” Representatives from aforementioned movies have yet to make announcements about their plans following the controversy.
