NSFAS provides update on blocked and locked accounts
NSFAS has provided an update for students who inquired about having their accounts unlocked or unblocked, clarifying that the matter is being attended to.
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) took to Twitter on Monday, 7 December 2020, to provide an update on the status of the locked and blocked accounts that students have been reporting. The post confirmed that the scheme is currently working on addressing the matter through processing and clearing the backlog.
The scheme did not stipulate a possible date or time for the issue to be resolved. The matter has been one that NSFAS’ social media posts have been inundated with comments about, implying that some students have been dealing with the matter for months now.
With the scheme having recorded the highest number of applications to date, it raises a question on whether the system will be able to deal with the high volumes next year. This is particularly important when taking into consideration how long it took to address a matter that has been highlighted for months.
See the post below.
We appeal to students who submitted a request to have their NSFAS Wallet account unlocked or unblocked to be patient as our dedicated team is working around the clock to process these requests and clear the backlog to ensure that students can access their NSFAS Wallet accounts
