Niger: Bank equips the maternity ward of the Niamey Regional Hospital Center

A bank has equipped the Poudrière II maternity unit of the Niamey Regional Hospital Center (CHR) with several buildings to improve the health conditions of a particularly vulnerable segment of the population, in particular families and carers of pregnant women, optimising the system of reception at the maternity hospital of the CHR.

The support of the International Bank for Africa in Niger (BIA-Niger) is part of a partnership agreement concluded on December 31, 2019, resulting in the financing of the construction and equipment of a building composed of a reception area and a block of four toilet compartments, primarily intended for the families of patients in the Poudrière II maternity unit.

The official donation ceremony took place on Tuesday 07 July, in the Poudrière II maternity unit, in the presence of Dr Idi Illiassou Maînassara, Minister of Public Health, Issaka Hassan Karanta, Governor of the Niamey region , Mmes Fatouma Tari Bako, Aïssa Nana Ango respectively Director General of the Regional Hospital Center (CHR) and Director General of BIA-Niger.

The social action carried out by this bank aims to improve the health conditions of a particularly vulnerable segment of the population, in particular families and carers of pregnant women, optimising the reception system at the maternity hospital of the CHR.

BIA-Niger is one of the major banking players in Niger. Its civic engagement revolves around four areas of intervention namely social, entrepreneurship, the environment and culture.
