Carl Niehaus took to Twitter to pledge his support for Ace Magashule, who was recently issued with a warrant of arrest and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
Member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the African National Congress (ANC), Carl Niehaus took to Twitter on Wednesday, 11 November 2020, to pledge his support for friend and the ANC’s Secretary-General (SG), Ace Magashule. This comes after Magashule was issued with a warrant of arrest for his alleged involvement in the controversial Free State asbestos housing project.
Following the news of Magashule‘s warrant of arrest, numerous ANC NEC members took to their various platforms to defend Magashule. They suggested that the warrant of arrest is an attempt to taint his image. One such supporter of Magashule is the Executive Mayor of Ekurhuleni, Mzwandile Masina, who has repeatedly proclaimed Magashule’s innocence.
Not only has Niehaus pledged his unwavering support for Magashule, but he has also stated that he will be present at Magashule’s first court appearance. Magashule is scheduled to appear at the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 13 November 2020.
