Niehaus votes ANC for the liberation movement and nothing else

Published on

Carl Niehaus has made it clear that he intended to vote for the ANC, despite his differences with its senior leadership, only for the sake of the liberation.

On Monday, 1 November 2021, uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) veteran, Carl Niehaus issued a statement on why he would be voting for the African National Congress (ANC) in the local government elections. He also encouraged all fellow South Africans to vote for the party too.

Niehaus stated that although he is experiencing some serious challenges and problems with the senior leaders of the ANC, he would still be voting for the party as the liberation movement and not necessarily for anyone else. He also expressed hope that the ANC would be victorious even though its leadership, which he believes has failed and sold the country to White monopoly capital, is putting the party into disrepute and destroying the liberation movement, according to him. The MK veteran further stated that he would not be calling on people to vote for a specific leader, but for people to vote for the ANC as the liberation movement.
