Niehaus issues letter of demand to ANC, to honour its liabilities or risk insolvency
Carl Niehaus has issued a letter of demand to the ANC, to honour its liabilities to staff within 10 days and prove assets exceed liabilities or face insolvency.
uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) veteran, Carl Niehaus issued a statement on Thursday, 21 October 2021, pertaining to a letter of demand to the African National Congress (ANC). Niehaus called for it to honour its liabilities within 10 days, or face proceedings to declare it insolvent and be sequestrated.
The letter of demand is said to be following the criminal charges that Niehaus and McDonald Mathabe laid against the national office bearers of the ANC, and the ruling party itself. In addition to also having lodged a complaint with the Public Protector against government agencies that failed to bring criminal charges against the ANC for deductions made from staff salaries.
The letter sets out a well-considered legal process to declare the party insolvent in the event that it does not honour its debts and liabilities to staff members, and for the ANC to prove assets exceed their liabilities.
