Niehaus documents Mahumapelo’s continued campaigning

Published on

Carl Niehaus has detailed not only his endorsement of Supra Mahumapelo, but also his continued campaign work, following their recent visit to the Hope of Glory Bible Church.

Spokesperson of the uMkhonto weSizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA), Carl Niehaus took to Twitter on Sunday, 2 May 2021, to detail his visit to the Hope of Glory Bible Church in Mathibestad. The visit was with recently suspended African National Congress (ANC) member, Supra Mahumapelo.

The two attended the church service and Mahumapelo was given a chance to lead the congregation in praise. Moreover, Niehaus referred to Mahumapelo as his comrade, despite his recent suspension from the ruling party after being found guilty of misconduct.

The post suggests that Mahumapelo has not taken his suspension lying down. Instead, the former ANC member has continued to canvass for support within the Free State, which is a stronghold for Ace Magashule. Moreover, the apparent resistance to the suspension coincides with of the call for Magashule to step aside from his position in the ruling party, as he is amongst those implicated in corruption.
