Niehaus cautions against fake post by “factional propagandists”

Published on

Carl Niehaus has come forward and accused the Ramaphosa faction of attempting to sow discord in the RET faction through a fake Twitter account in his name.

Spokesperson of the uMkhonto weSizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA), Carl Niehaus took to Twitter on Wednesday, 12 May 2021, to warn of a fake Twitter account in his name. According to him, the fake account is attempting to sow discord in the Radical Economic Transformation (RET) faction. Therefore, in his caption, he alleged that whoever is behind the fake account is from the supposed Ramaphosa faction.

The post in question claimed that Ace Magashule will not apologise, despite being requested to do so by the African National Congress (ANC), in order to lift the terms of his suspension. Moreover, it alleged that some of the female ANC members and ministers were threatened with losing their positions if they sided with the RET faction.

Niehaus, when challenged on whether the account had been dishonest in claiming that Magashule will not apologise to the ruling party, responded, “I will always talk for myself. I will never allow anyone to talk on my behalf.”
