Niehaus believes ANC statement is a threat of his illegal firing

Published on

Carl Niehaus has issued a letter in response to the ANC’s statement, noting it as a threat to have him illegally fired without notice or a disciplinary hearing.

On Thursday, 9 September 2021, uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) veteran, Carl Niehaus issued a letter of reply to what he called a threat from the African National Congress (ANC) to have him dismissed. Niehaus stated that he received the letter from the ruling party, claiming that the statement by the National Spokesperson of the ANC was an attack on him.

Niehaus stated that the threat to fire him without notice or a disciplinary hearing was illegal. He further noted that the statement had, in no way, stated that the actions were on behalf of the ANC Staff Association. The MK veteran further stated that he was acting in his own personal capacity as an employee, along with other employees he opted not to name. Niehaus called the allegations by the ANC unfounded and a way of intimidating staff members.
