New specialty hospital in Nouakchott to be financed by Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia will finance a hospital with several medical specialties in Nouakchott named after its Crown Prince, Mohammed Bin Salman.

This was announced by Saudi Information Minister Awad Al Awad on Sunday, 2 December 2018, evening in Nouakchott, as part of Bin Salman’s visit to the Mauritanian capital.

During the visit, the two countries concluded a treaty on exemption from double taxation on income and capital, and on tax exemption.

The agreement was signed by Mauritania’s Minister of Economy and Finance, Moctar Ould Diay, and Saudi Minister of Trade and Investment Majed Abdallah Al Ghasbi.

A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed by the Mauritanian Minister of Hydraulics and Sanitation, Isselmou Ould Sid El Moktar Ould Lehbib, and one Ghasbi on behalf of the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.

In the same context, the Mauritanian Minister of Environment and Sustainable Development, Amedi Camara, signed a second memorandum of understanding with Ghasbi on behalf of the Saudi Nature Protection Authority.

Meanwhile, Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, according to the final communique on the visit, condemned the threats to Saudi Arabia and the ballistic missile attacks that target its territory from time to time, a reference to the war in Yemen.
